There's an outstanding reason why Cannon downriggers, some of the best and best known, have changed the way we fish: Cannon down- riggers allow you to present the right bait at the right depth at the right time - and hold it there until the fish bites. The downrigger weight keeps the fishingline with the bait at the desired depth. When the fish has bitten, the fishing line is released from the release clip and the catch can be landed. USE OF A DOWNRIGGERS Presenting your bait at a precisely chosen depth increases your chances of success: the bait is and stays where the fish are. Downriggers make this as easy as possible, leaving you more time to fish. 2 4 Select depth While trolling, the weight keeps your lure at the desired depth at which it performs its natural movements. Some Cannon downriggers can move the weight up and down cyclically. Drilling When you see that the fish has bitten, take the rod out of the holder and drill the fish. 3 "Release" As soon as the fish bites, the line is pulled out of the release clip and the fish is hooked. 1 Attaching and lowering Attach your fishing line to the "release" attached to the weight (a kind of clothespin that holds the line firmly clamped up to a certain resistance).
